Hi all,

Whenever I want to link a bank account to my paypal account, I get this message:

This account needs a little help to link it. Contact us and we can help with that, or you can link a different account

Info:

I've looked through the community, and found several fellas with the same problem. Based on the answers, I'd like to state that

-I've tried four different bank accounts, of four different banks

-All accounts are actual (as in not virtual), of well known banks from the EU.

I tried to contact sopport via email, but as it seems paypal do not have email address of their customer service. What a time to be alive.

I tried the resolution centre, but it does not work. Says: 'we're sorry, it looks like something went wrong on our end'

I tried contacting support via messenger, and a kind, but unable fella tried to help me. Their advice was to wait 48 hours. I did, and both the account linking and the resolution centre issue remained the same.

I tried 2 devices, 3 different browsers and deleting cache/cookies.

I tried contacting them again, they said the same thing.

I do not wish to call paypal.

This is the thread that has the most actual info about this problem:

https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Wallet-Archives/Unable-to-add-German-bank-account-quot-This-acco...

I forwarded this to the messenger dude, and said "thanks for that, it it very helpful to others". Thats it, nothing more.

And here I am, unable to access my own money beacuse some problem you have, that i cannot tell you beacuse you have zero customer service.

Guys, what should I do?

(ps: i dont know if im allowed to post info about my account in question, so for now i remain anonymus)

Hello @applesauce1,

Welcome to PayPal Community Forum and thank you for posting!

What you've described is certainly not the kind of experience we want for customers while linking financials to your PayPal account! I know the times are difficult and we would like to support you to the best of our capabilities. From the reading of the information that you've shared, it is possible that our security system is not letting this transaction go through. Some unusual account activity would have triggered this. This is only temporary. Our internal security system works hard to keep our customer's accounts safe, and this is just a security measure that we take to make sure the account is safe. I would suggest you try to attempt the transaction again at a later time. Please do not try to attempt this simultaneously, as our security system will get triggered and the clock will start from zero, from the time of the next attempt. If you're still running into issues after that, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support teams by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of any PayPal page. They're also available through Twitter direct messages or Facebook instant messages. Kindly note that due to high incoming volume, there might be a delay in response. I appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Good Luck,

Ayesha

Hi, I could not wait any longer, so I unfortunately broke my own rule and called the customer service. It seems I finally reached one of the very few competent coworkers. I had the pleasure to talk with this helpful chap who solved my problem in 3 minutes. I wonder why did you take days to do this 3 minute job? Why did I had to call you? I think it is pretty standard today to communicate via email. You know what? I Iet it go. PayPal is absolutely not customer friendly, the social media chat bots are useless, the community also, the CC seems all right. And you don't have a freaking email address, it still is hilarious. My problem is fixed.
