s it even possible to send crypto to an external wallet, I only get a very general error from paypal even thou i have bitcoin, have a valid bitcoin address to send to, have verified my personal info. Only get some general error message like "cannot do this transaction at this time" what a joke! I;m very experienced and am doing this all correctly and its obvious its a problem within paypal. So all said and done i got ripped off for fees having to sell my bitcoin back to cash and just use my current exchange. Utterly zero help from paypal and zero knowledge from customer service, that means zero chance that you have my business going forward. Thanx for no help with your services

For the first time ever I *thought* I could transfer my crypto, nope. Even after vetting myself with a scan of my DL, face photo, and test message, "A technical error occurred" I tried it with different amounts, same error. I was stoked. 😕

7 months later and the issue you experienced in December 2022 has not been resolved. I actually spoke to an English as a first language PayPal representative on 7/13/23. He flat out told me PayPal has never went "all in" on cryptocurrency. Believe me they're not trying to resolve the issue of being able to transfer your cryptocurrency to another platform even though they published a big press release when the transfer tabs were added to their website. He suggested I sell my ETH and covert back to USD. I asked why would I want to pay additional fees and sell for less than my cost basis just to access my own assets? He told me I didn't have a history of transferring cryptocurrency on PayPal and the system is designed to deny transfers without a transfer history. That seems strange because they took my cryptocurrency and have been holding it for two years. I explained after over two weeks of attempting to transfer approximately $5,000 of BTC it finally went though after maybe a dozen attempts during one session on 7/13. The employee told me he was surprised the transfer went through. That tells me it somehow slipped through the cracks and was suppose to be kept by PayPal. I filed a complaint with the Department of Finance which I'm reasonably sure will go nowhere. Once I eventually get my ethereum off the PayPal platform I will immediately close this account. Terrible company and terrible customer service.

The crypto wallet change Everytime so make sure you refresh the wallet Everytime when you want to send . Same thing with receiving.
The transaction can't be send because A. There is a limit requirement - for BTC at least 0.0002 is required ( like some store required minimum purchase of $5 in oder to use a credit card).
B. You reached your limits allowance for for current account status.
C. The time or location ... Sometimes they won't make the transaction when the stock market is about to start , or there is just a huge crash on the market that current day which make the prices go up and down.

I get the same thing - called Paypal and they suggested now to wait 48 hours to try again - but they said there was security issues, so every time you try if the security concerns are trip they keep lengthen the time... I tried again at 24 hours same issue, now 48 hours what gives. The can even tell if the security concerns are lifted on the account? So the process I will wait try in 48 hours and then see if it works.. I hate crypto.. why cant we go back to old fashion ways... they worked... I have a valid wallet to send to, I filled in everything needed to buy the crypto is in the account but useless to send to a wallet..

I bought BTC for the first time last week. I am experiencing the same issues as everyone else. They say it's a security lock for repeated attempts but don't explain why it didn't work the first time I tried and not to mention the error message says to try again! One rep suggested I sell it back to myself? Huh?? And pay more fee's again?? That's not a solution, that is an unfair option. I can't believe people have been writing about this for over a year and it's still not resolved?? I am an App developer and publisher and this is not a "bug", it's intentional. This is clearly some calculated scam on PP's part, (not the best use of words but you get my point) since they know it exists. The excuses from reps folks have been sharing on these threads are unbelievable. Almost scary. Can you imagine how much $$$ they've generated with customers giving up and selling their crypto?? And it's not some rocket science tech. Hundred's of other wallet platforms, some from small countries, have the transfer feature and it works perfectly. I use 3 others. No problems, ever. BTW I just opened a Robinhood account since they have a similar way to fund the crypto account with fiat currency as PayPal, which is the only reason why I bought BTC through PP in the first place lol. Funded the account via ach transfer, $1000 was immediately available for use, 5 mins later I purchased BTC, the next day I was able to transfer it to my primary non-custodial wallet easily. It may have gone through that same day, but I normally wait a day before sending to my main wallet. If anyone has figured out a work around, pls lmk. I can't believe there has not been a class action lawsuit or an investigation by the SEC or the Crypto regulatory agencies that PP and the other US based providers must adhere to! Finally, this long standing policy of locking up accounts and denying access to funds for months in the name of "security" is criminal. But this crypto transfer scam is taking it to a new level. As soon as I can sell my BTC, I'll be closing my account and never using PP or Venmo again!
