Why can't I use my Amex prepaid card to link to my PayPal?

My Amex card isn't able to be linked to my PayPal. It always says it was declined, and I'm unsure what to do.

I also have this problem, do you know if the problem is on paypal's end or amex's end?

Haven't quite figured this out yet, I'm pretty sure it's a PayPal thing as I've used my Amex card for other things rather than PayPal... I am not sure!

Welcome! Thank you for visiting PayPal's Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues using your AMEX prepaid card on PayPal. I can certainly understand why you'd want to use a prepaid card on PayPal. I'd first recommend reviewing the troubleshooting steps listed here: Why can’t I link my credit or debit card to my PayPal account?

After that, please make sure your prepaid card is fully registered with the right information with AMEX, and you have your permanent card with your name on it. If you're still running into issues from there, you may want to try another funding source with PayPal.
