Hi,
Why doesn't the number beside my login name keep up with the actual number of items I've purchased off ebay?

The number next to your login name on ebay represents the number of positive feedback comments you have received. In my experience, this is usually many fewer than the number of transactions. About 1/3 to 1/2 of users don't seem to leave feedback at all.
