PayPal has accused us of fraud. All I have been trying to do is change the account holder name from two executive director positions ago to the current executive director (me). I have submitted all information PayPal requested, including a photo of my driver's license, a photo of my social security card and a statement on official company letterhead explaining the change.
Now my account has been suspended indefinitely, and they are withholding a nonprofit organization's money for 180 days (6 months). In the meantime, this places my organization in an existential crisis as we are not allowed to get the money that people have donated and paid to us for services rendered. To top it all off, PayPal's phone customer support "is not able to help me at this time." I just can't believe I am in this situation and I'm afraid I'm going to lose my job over it.
Has anyone else dealt with this? I have literally been in contact with PayPal over the phone and email for over a month and was completely blindsided by this account suspension.
