Hello, I’m new to PayPal, at least for selling and receiving payments. I recently began selling a fair amount of product on eBay and a few other sites that manage sales through PayPal. It was going well for awhile, the occasion hold was placed on a random sale here and there, but funds were released in a reasonable amount of time. However, over the weekend my account was limited, or in other words frozen, for “changes” in my account. An absurdly long list of items was asked for to resolve issues, which I promptly uploaded after about 6 hours of time invested chasing receipts, tracking info, item info, etc. These “changes” were clearly triggered by a program algorithm detecting a higher number of sales/shipped items with no real customer concern for an unfilled order or fraud claim. I have thousands of $$$ which I cannot access, but of course buyers can still deposit into my frozen account. I am expected to continue to fill orders and send product, which of course I will do, but have a severe lack of confidence in PayPal to effectively and timely resolve phantom issues on their platform. Communication is utterly impossible. Can’t call or email. Can only message online but have to choose from “bubbled” pre-written questions and not allowed to actually enter my own text. Being sent in circles with computer automated answers in form of massive generalities. I feel like I’m being held hostage and have no recourse. I’m not disputing PayPal’s right to enact such limitations as per the User Agreement, but I am stating that there are real people on the other side of these transactions trying to conduct honest business and provide good customer service. It stands to reason that the process by which PayPal attempts to “limit fraud” or “protect the buyer” may, in fact, contribute to the proliferation of such practices on it’s face alone. After reading several message boards and similar issues from other customers, my question is: does anyone have a similar issue that actually got resolved in a reasonable amount of time? Again, I’m an honest customer with real transactions, and provided all the info they requested. Just trying to figure out what do to with future sales and orders to fill. I certainly don’t want to continue having thousands of $$$ funded into my frozen account that may take 2 days or 2 years to resolve. I’ve heard the horror stories, are there any positive outcomes out there? Thanks!
