Chargeback Scam! There are a lot of scams coming out of India and Africa. This one involves paying for a service and then 2-3 months later they file a claim through their bank that claims that they paid on you in another way, implying that you charged them double. I do tarot readings on Bitwine. People know full well what they are paying for and for how much. There are no surprises. And there is a very fair refund system in place, so there is no reason to file through the bank. There is only one way to get paid on that platform, and that through Paypal, and the client authorizes the amount previous to the service, and then is charged only once the service is complete. Paypal is handing out these refunds left and right and not looking at the evidence that is being sent to them that proves this is a scam, and people are being charged a fee on top of this. The person who did it to me has done it 20 times this in February and I have a letter from Bitwine stating this. Paypal is ignoring this and is either just allowing it because they don't care or someone working at Paypal is part of the scam! I called to discuss this. The woman could barely speak English, so I have no idea if she even understood what I said. I was told that it could be escalated to the "back office" and I would receive an email. The only email I received was came seconds later and it simply restated that they refunded the money. How do we fight this? There are several people that this has happened and we will gladly file a complaint together to the powers that be or whatever entity regulates Paypal.
