Sorry for the confusion, we would send two small deposits to your account.  Anything from .01 to .99 cents.  These would be put into your bank for you to keep.  Sometimes banks will put the two deposits together, so if you see one lump sum, there should be an option for you to change it or you can always give us a call once you have them and we can assist you with it. Hello CeCi8507 and Rosenchris, Yes there is an email to forward these too, spoof@paypal.com Remember we will always reference our customer by first and last name, so if these emails do not have it then its not an email from PayPal.  Also we would not send an email with an attachment unless you spoke to PayPal and stated that they were going to send something like that, which is incredibly rare. Depending on which funding source you used for the original payment, that is going to determine where it goes if you get a refund. If your bank account was used then the money would go back to your balance, at that point if you would like it back in your bank just click the withdraw tab and have it sent back to your bank (usually about a 3-4 business process).  If you used a credit card then it would immediately be processed back to your card.  Although some credit card companies can take up to a full billing cycle for the refund to appear.   Hope this clears things up! **Helmute**  ... Hello Deb2409 and welcome! I can certainly explain more about why that is.  Lets say for example you would like to add funds to your PayPal account.  When you start this process we send a message to your bank and your bank will process it, depending on the time and day, within 24 hours.  They then send it to the federal reserve and then they send it to your PayPal account.  When you want to withdraw money from your PayPal account and send it to your bank then the same process starts just the opposite way around.  We process the money out of your PayPal account, Usually within 24 hours.  Then we send it to the federal reserve and then it gets sent to your bank.  So when you send money you'll general see the money clear out of your bank within a day, when you withdraw money it has to clear the whole process before you see it in your bank account.
