I had a VERY frustrating time with two PayPal admins (chat), firstly they took an exorbitant amount of time to reply and secondly, they could not grasp the concept of my problem and would not deviate from a set of pat phrases. It was very stressful and frustrating dealing with them. My PayPal account has a 'limitation' on it. When I queried this they said I needed to provide the date of birth of my brother. Back in October 2022 I tried to make a purchase (gift of shoes for my brother). I have just learnt that since he was not the buyer nor seller they placed a limitation on my account and funds will only be released as soon as I gave them his date of birth! I explained that I am his sister and purchased a gift for him that was going to be shipped directly to him, this was back in October 2022 $410. If they 'release' the funds now, it would entail my credit card being deducted (at this late stage) and I would have the added ordeal of trying to secure a refund. It took sooo long for the PayPal admin to understand this, (kept insisting I should provide his dob). I eventually convinced him that I needed to speak to someone higher..."OK my manager will call you". Several days spent trying to solve this. I am nearly ready to give up on my PayPal account entirely. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions?
