What is this about the "February fulfillment"??? I wasn't aware of anything special for February. And isn't it a law that when there's a contest, there has to be a list of winners, even if it's just their first initial and last name? Send your item with delivery confirmation! Print the label through eBay and you won't have to pay put of pocket for the shipping! Your money will be released 3 days after your item is delivered!! Positive buyer feedback NO LONGER RELEASES THE HOLD!! Stop screaming about suing PayPal/eBay - its not happening!! We all agreed to this when we accepted the terms and conditions. @bassman59 - A buyer leaving feedback does NOTHING to help release the hold anymore - it hasn't for months. PayPal finally updated their site like eBay did quite a while ago. You can read about it here: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=security/ebay_payments_learn_more If you used delivery confirmation and PayPal has the d/c#, then you SHOULD get your money 3 days after delivery (there are occasional glitches - call if the hold isnt released when it should be). If you didn't use delivery confirmation, then hopefully you marked the item as shipped, because then the hold will come off 7 days after the latest date of your estimated delivery (calculated by adding your handling time with the estimated delivery time of whatever method you stated in your listing).    (This is no longer directed at bassman):   Now, to the people who say they can't afford the postage to ship the item - if you print your label through eBay, you will be given the option to pay for the shipping out of the buyer's funds, even though they're on hold! EBay won't withdraw the shipping amount until the hold is released. I have been posting on this thread for almost 2 years and I know that it's not possible to read every single comment, but people should read enough posts so they understand what's going on. @jjsmompsp: it is very possible that holding that one item triggered something in their system. There is not a person that actually looks at the accounts to determine if a hold should be put on or not - it is automated based on your account, and on certain criteria. Since "average delivery timeframes" is one of the reasons, I think it's very likely that is what happened. I would call PayPal if I were you, to explain that you were providing EXCELLENT customer service by shipping when the customer wanted! For anyone that does not print a shipping label right away after the sale - I suggest you "mark item as shipped" right away - you can always go back and "unmark item as shipped" whenever you want. ... @Imouttahere: If you really were charged twice, then you just need to call PayPal. If you printed your label through PayPal, they say they will withdraw it from your bank account but then reimburse you 24 hours later, then withdraw it out of the buyer's funds when they become available. Idk why they aren't just the same as eBay, but that's what their policy states. I will be looking into using it, and www.ebid.com as well (which I have not looked at yet). I noticed, however, that they (webstore.com) strongly encourages checkout through PayPal or Google checkout. The only ways to get the hold released that I know of are: 1. Automatically - when you print the shipping label through eBay, the funds will be released 3 days after the item is delivered as long as the buyer doesn't complain (because eBay will already have the d/c #). (The hold should also be released 3 days after delivery when you manually enter a tracking number, but this doesn't always happen. One of my sellers entered the tracking in eBay, but I found out when I called that PayPal didn't have record of it. So if you enter a tracking number, be sure to do it in PayPal's system instead of or in addition to eBay's). 2. Automatically - 21 days after payment, as long as the buyer doesn't complain. 3. Supposedly - without a d/c #, 7 days after the "expected" delivery date when you mark an item as shipped in the selling part of MyeBay (per eBay's FAQ). Once again, A BUYER LEAVING POSITIVE FEEDBACK NO LONGER HAS ANY IMPACT ON THE HOLD BEING RELEASED (I'm not yelling at you, just trying to make that stand out for other people reading this). I have heard that it is not Paypal that decides who gets the hold for eBay sales - it is eBay. 2. I have heard that if you call PayPal and ask them what the interest rate is that they're paying you, you will get the hold released. I have also heard someone say that this did not work for them, but perhaps they weren't aggressive enough because I have seen many people say that it did work. The following are facts based on what happened recently with my own transactions: 3. If you print your shipping label through eBay, there will be the option to pay the shipping cost with funds from your PayPal account - they will not be withdraw it until AFTER the hold is released. This way you don't have to pay out-of-pocket. 4. When using USPS, when you print your label through eBay, there will be a delivery confirmation number generated. eBay and Paypal will then have record of it, and your funds will AUTOMATICALLY be released 72 hours after delivery as long as the buyer doesn't complain. Last year when my funds were held, I complained to the BBB, and my funds were released and not held again.
