Hello, I used PayPal to transfer money into a seller's account to pay a deposit for a tattoo appointment. I received a confirmation message saying the payment had been sent. However, the next day, the artist informed me that the funds did not arrive. I looked at the details for the payment closer after she mentioned that, and the payment is listed as pending and it says the seller will receive the funds by September 5, 2017 (A month after I sent them). I am not sure why this happened because I've used PayPal to send seller payments for approximately the last 15 years and have never had that kind of delay for the amount. Could it be because the seller sent me a request for the amount of the deposit instead of me just sending it over in the absence of such a formal request from PayPal? Anyway, I have researched what to do to cancel the payment because, due to the month-long delay, the funds should be in an "unclaimed" status because they haven't reached the seller to be available to claim. However, there is no button associated with the PayPal records that allows me to cancel the transaction. I'd really like to do that because I ended up paying the deposit in person yesterday. I've read some posts in the community about pending payments automatically reverting back to the source if they remain unclaimed for 30 days, but does that mean I'll have to wait until early October (30 days after they should arrive for the seller) before that happens? I think that's ridiculous and just want to make sure I'm not overlooking another solution. Thanks!
