Hi there, there is a way to use prepaid *gift* credit cards on paypal, we do it all the time. You must go to the online site listed usually on the sticker, package or back of the card, and register it in your name. Use your full name and address that is on your paypal account. Then try it again. Now it must have the visa/mastercard/discover/american express symbol on the front to work. I've never had a problem with using any of them as long as they were registered. Infact, my wifes cards work on my account even though they are only in her name.
Also, my wife and I have never had a horror story with paypal...and we both use our bank accounts and real credit cards as well as prepaids/gift cards. Infact when we first started we had a mixup on ebay and typed the wrong email address in our paypal box. several items that sold were paid for to the wrong email address. Luckily it was a wierd enough mistake that paypal spent all day helping us fix it. We were able to add the wrong email address to our accounts and still recieve all of our payments that may of been lost in internet land. They were extremely helpful and did not leave us to deal with it...but actually worked on it with us all day. Like any company they have rules or policies and sometimes those can be strict to avoid fraud/theft etc. Yet not all ppl are going to agree with those rules and thats why you get those unhappy stories. I think most ppl are satisfied with paypal or they would use it. Good Luck and I hope this helps...the best gift card to use btw is PowerPay, you can actually reload this one and it's got fund protection from theft/fraud that backs up your funds no problems. Plus you can add $ anytime at most stores so you never have to buy another card again. 🙂
