I know this is long, but bear with me. I wrote with much detail so that I would be able to get fuller responses from you guys! Thank you! So I'm not sure how well I phrased my title, but basically, I've used a prepaid Visa giftcard before on my PayPal and it worked seamlessly last time. But this time I'm running into trouble. Basically, I took off the old giftcard because it was empty. I removed it from my account, I got the confirmation that it was removed and everything. I then added the new giftcard (went to my profile, added it as a prepaid card, recieved a confirmation email from PayPal). The balance on my PayPal account showed as 0 still, but a quick online search told me that was normal for accounts with only prepaid cards. So I went to make an online purchase and selected PayPal as my payment method, clicked to complete my purchase, and the customary PayPal payment screen popped up. The payment method (the number of the card i.e. Visa xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx21) was wrong though. It showed the numbers from the previous giftcard, the one I had removed from my account. I figured maybe the system hadn't been completely updated or something so I clicked to change it. Logged into my PayPal from the website and then it took me to the screen to put in the information of a card, with the alert at the top of the screen saying "To pay for this purchase right now, link a debit or credit card to your PayPal account." But it said that there was an active card in my account, and it was the correct one that I had added to the account (not the one I had removed). There was no way for me to select to use the card (as far as I know, maybe I'm doing this wrong?) so I just tried entering in the information again and submitted that. Needless to say, it didn't work. Do I have to verify my prepaid card somehow? I tried troubleshooting it and found a couple people saying that I needed to register it online directly on the vendor(?) (i.e. walmartgift.com) so I registered it, made sure the information I registered with perfectly matched with my PayPal information and...it didn't work. So I check my email and see that PayPal told me that I need to confirm my "credit or debit card" with a 4 number code that they would send me in an email in 2-3 days. It's only been about a day and a half, so technically there's still a couple days to recieve the emial but now I'm just kind of paranoid that I did something wrong. Any help or insight would be HUGELY appreciated. sidenote - my parents aren't comfortable connecting my bank account or a credit card to my PayPal, which is why I'm using Visa giftcards (that and because I received quite a few on my birthday). If the problem has something to do with not having a CC or bank account connected to my account, then I don't understand seeing as I didn't need it on previous purchases.
