I frequently send money to a family member from my PayPal account balance to his. Usually there are no fees, but over the last few days, he's been charged a fee when he receives the funds. My PayPal account has always had my bank account as its Backup Funding method.   Recently I just got SmartConnect too.  I know I can use it as Backup Funding for my PayPal Debit Card if I set it up that way, but SmartConnect is not listed in my Wallet.    1) Is SmartConnect automatically a backup source for PayPal purchases? Or do I have to set it as one?   2) Does SmartConnect backup Send Money too, or only online purchases?    3) If I have both SmartConnect and a bank account as Backup Funding methods, which is used first? ...
