Paypal sent me a card reader with no chip reader (I accept responsibility for not understanding that I should have asked for one and not assumed that they would tell me anything about the difference between swipe transactions and chip transactions so my bad...) When I found out the funds were being held because I didn't get a chip reader, I called and was told that the reason may be because my account wasn't "verified" so I produced every single id doc they requested for myself and my business thinking that would matter in getting my funds released sooner than 30 days. This too approximately 2 hours of my time. I scanned my personal docs and business docs and sent them in and received an e mail saying I was verified. Stupidly, I thought this meant something other than pacifying me about the account hold. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR A NEW SMALL BUSINESS. READ THE USER AGREEMENT AND THEN RUN AWAY!!!!! YOU ARE NOT THEIR CUSTOMER!!!! YOU ARE THEIR HOSTAGE if you process transactions with them. You will wait the FULL 30 days and then when you get the all clear an try to transfer to you bank account because the WHOLE SITE SAYS IT TAKES 1 BUSINESS day, you find that it will take 5 days and if you weren't so stupid, you'd have read the user agreement and known that the whole site saying it takes 1 business day is a LIE! PAYPAL is not for you if you rely on cc payments at all and are a new small business. Wait until you have an issue and call customer service. They are basically trained to tell you too bad in a nice way no matter what your issue!!! I'M not disgruntled I am just sorry for anyone who gets stuck in this nightmare of a cc processing company and has to deal with the fact that they are **bleep** and that PAYPAL doesn't care!
