I recently purchased an iPad Mini 4 on Swappa. When I received the device, it was tied to a school district through remote management. The seller has agreed to issue a refund saying to return the device, and upon shipping, she will close the PayPal dispute. I am confused as I have not yet opened a dispute. The seller had multiple iPad Minis for sale, so I am thinking that maybe this message was copied and pasted from another buyer with the same issue. The fact that the seller wants to close the issue with whomever before refunding seems shady, though. Should I just return the iPad (with signature confirmation) and wait for a refund, and then if something goes wrong, open a dispute, or should I open a dispute now before returning the iPad in order to protect myself (even though the seller has agreed to a refund)?
