A family member stole phone and wallet and stole all of my money. I have started to just now to see how much damage has been done. I’ve tried to appeal with PayPal over the most expensive sum of the money ($531) and they have decided not in my favor. What can I do? I needed that money for Christmas

You’re responsible for keeping your account/device secure, not be negligent. If you leave your device around and someone is able to easily access your PayPal account, you are responsible. Same if a parent didn’t properly secure/lock their account/device and their kid ends up racking up charges. Perhaps contact the merchant to let them know the transaction is unauthorized and get a refund. Or resolve it with said family member.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
