Payment sent to wrong person

I sent money to the wrong person. Name was very similar to whom I needed to send it too. I have messaged the person but doubt they will send it back.

Depends how you sent the funds, what it says on the transaction on your paypal account and how you funded the paypal payment.

If you can answer all three then we can advise you.

Sent as friends, it was paid out of my bank account and no way to cancel it. Transaction is processing so I called my bank and I can pay to do a stop payment OR once it has posted, I can file a dispute with the bank.

Then its good your bank can help you as a friends/family payment has 0 buyer protection.

Paypal can reach out to the recipient and request that they refund but they can't force them to do so.
