Steam card

Can anyone tell me what a steam card is. I’ve been told I’m having money senti to me but I need to buy this steam card to get it. Is this a scam? Please help. What does a steam card even do? I’m new to this PayPal thing, so I have no idea.

I understand you've been asked to purchase a Steam Card before you can receive a payment, and I'm sorry to hear that. Steam is an online video game distribution service and is unrelated to PayPal. It sounds like the person is asking you to purchase a gift card through Steam before they will send you the payment. Unfortunately, this is a common scam over the last few years. Please do not purchase and send them the card. Through PayPal, you will never be required to pay any upfront fee to receive payments or make changes to your account. If you receive a payment for selling an item, you may be charged a fee after you receive it. However, that fee will enable your Seller Protection.
