I have a problem. 3 days ago one guy reach out to me and told me that I get a payment but first I need to buy bitcoin and use his wallet as a clear my fee. (International transaction) He told me that if I pay 100$ will be enough, then send me picture of 50% done, then I did that again and he send me screenshot that said it’s 75$ now. I repeated it one again and he said that I didn’t work. Right now I’m so worried and concerned that I got scammed. What should I do?

Hello @Haxley

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

I'm sorry to hear about the concern caused by your recent buyer. I would feel the same way in your situation. Through PayPal, you will never be required to pay any upfront fees, including crypto, to receive a payment. As the sale of cryptocurrency is not available through PayPal in Poland, there wouldn't be any Buyer or Seller Protection offered for it. You would want to reach out to whichever platform you used to purchase the crypto to see if there's an option for disputing the transaction. You can learn more about common scams and how to spot phishing emails on our Help Center by using the links I've included.

I hope you're able to receive a refund!

I have also with the same situation. He wants me to buy razer gold gift card. I spent 286$. Then he showed that its almost 100% for the money to be transferred in my PayPal account. Then, he told me that the 120$ I paid to upgrade my PayPal is not enough and I need to add 60$ to complete the process and then the funds will be transferred to my account. So, this is scam right? Until now, he is still telling me to pay the remaining 60$.
