Verification via Papal app has stopped working

In the past, I verified any transaction by opening the PayPal app on my phone and authenticating via biometrics. As soon as I started the app, I was notified of the pending transaction and asked for confirmation. At some point this has stopped working. The app doesn't seem to get informed of the transaction and doesn't ask for confirmation.

This may have been since I have activated a passkey for authentication instead of username and password. 

Is there a way to get this working again?
