Domain expiring...do I HAVE to renew it?

Hi.

My old domain name (which is the name that my paypal account is in) is due to expire.  I know I can't just "Change it" to my new domain....but I am wondering what will happen to my PayPal account if I do not renew the old domain name?

I have a new domain name and a new email address.  I edited the email, but it will not let me change the domain name.  If I do NOT renew the old domain, and the PayPal Account is in that name...will my account be closed. suspended, or anything?  I do not want a lapse in the account because I do receive payments there.

I guess what I want to know is what kind of impact it would have on my PayPal account if I do NOT renew the old domain (that my PayPal account is regiestered with).  Can you have a PayPal account associated with an expired domain name?  Please let me know asap as the domain is set to expire in the next week.

Hi,

Yes, technically you can have a PayPal account with an email address under an expired domain name.

However, any notifications sent to the account won't arrive and you won't be notified of important updates to your account.

You should be able to add a complete new email address on a new domain to your accout though.

Simply navigate to 'Profile' > 'Add or remove e-mail' and add the new email address to your account and confirm it.
