How can my customers put in a coupon code at checkout?

New to paypal, sort of. On the business side, we need to have people put in a coupon code for 5, 10, and 20% off our 1 product were selling, I have no clue how to do this. i think it has something to do with the "advanced variables" under Create a Paypal button. i could be wrong, can anyone help with this? thanks

Unfortunately there's no built in account profile features to do what you have in mind. In addition, you can't use the online button creator as it has limitations. Basically your code must be manually generated. The code can be scripted to use the PayPal "discount" variables or scripted without the variables. The logic for the coupon/discount is done your web page or site first, then the end results are uploaded to PayPal.
