Cancelling a pending request to transfer money to my bank

Hi, I have a problem - I requested to transfer a sum of money from my paypal to my bank and it ended up on hold with the up to 72 hours message. The problem I have is that now there has been an issue with the sale I made and I need to refund the money to back to the person who originally sent it to me. Please can you tell me if there is a way that I can cancel the request to transfer so that the funds are back in the paypal account and can be refunded to the person who paid them to me in the first place? I can't cover the amount myself as I don't have the funds anywhere else. Paypal customer services are closed until Monday so I can't call anyone. Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

I though PayPal customer service was open on weekends.

The only way you might be able to fix would be to talk to someone in custoemr service.

Since PayPal has initiated the request to transfer funds out of your account, there would be no way to recall the transfer.  If there were an option it would likely be that you would have to ask your bank to refuse the funds so they return to PayPal.  That would also likely take days.

If the refund is automatic by PayPal, PayPall will either take funds from your bank are make your account go negative and then you can fix later.

Since you have a linked bank account, it might work to just do the refund and PayPal will take the money from your bank account or your backup credit card.

If you are planning to to a manual refund you might be able to convince the buyer to wait a couple days.

I'm only speculating as you haven't provided details about how the refund would occur.

Ok, thanks for your help. I may have misunderstood the Paypal customer service opening times and it is just overnight that they are closed, so I will try them tomorrow. It sounds like the money is inevitably going to be tied up for days though. Thanks again for your help.
