Paying overseas with a giftcard only able to be used in the US

There is an over game from an over seas company, that I would like to buy.  I recieved a giftcard which is only good in the US, I attached it to Paypal, and tried to buy it.  However it still seems to be fail when I try to order it.  Is there a way Paypal could charge my giftcard, and add it to my Paypal account, then just pay with paypal account vs charging my giftcard?

Can only add money to PayPal Balance with linked bank account or PayPal CASH for US PayPal accounts.  

If non-US PayPal account and you do not see the gift card as an option to top up your PayPal Balance then you can't do it. Instead use the card without logging in to PayPal checkout like a regular credit or debit card guest checkout if it is a visa/mastercard type of gift card.

I do have the card linked.  Its a "Visa prepaid x-xxxx".  I select it at the checkout, but then it seems that the company ends up not accepting it.  and Payment fails.  I have used the card like a credit card, but it fails because it is US only.  So I thought maybe if Paypal deals with it, that it will be ok.  But does not seem to be the case.

Thanks for the reply, but I can't use the gift visa card as normal, its a US based card and only good in the states, so it won't work over the pond.  It would be nice to be able for paypal to charge the gift card and pull it into the Account.  I guess I will have to use the gift card and then buy a paypal giftcard?  Seems silly to have to do that, but if thats the only option?
