Qualify for PayPal Credit Account

('ve had a PayPal account since 2001 and I have a steady income in the form of Social Security.  After a rocky financial situation with my husband, when he passed away in 2006, I decided not to keep any credit cards.  However, over the years I've had need for a credit record of some kind to obtain housing or acquire small loans of various natures.  I've had to rely on my sister to co-sign when these needs came up.  I'd like to become more independent and I've proven to myself that I can handle my finances quite adequately.  But without a credit record, I'm wondering if I would qualify for a PayPal Credit account?  Can anyone answer that question for me?  Thanks

In order to have a PayPal Credit account you will need a good financial and credit history.

Search PayPal for PayPal Credit, then apply.

Even if approved there is no guarantee that you can use it as each potential purchase will be reviewed  at time of perchase to determine if all qualifications are met.

Better to start with local options for credit cards.  Start with a debit card from your bank.  Use it once and then put aside.

You could also apply for a credit card through your local bank.  Use it once and then put aside.

Apply for a credit card with a local department store.  Use it once and then put aside.

Point is to start small.

Also make sure your are NEVER late with utility or other payments.

A good way to show  you can manage credit is to have credit cards but never use them  more than one initial purchase.

You need a good credit record; unused credit cards are great for that.
