WeChat to Paypal — possible?

I have started teaching Chinese students online.

Is it possible for them to use WeChat to pay money into my PayPal account?

It would seem that the only way to go around is to encourage your friends in Mainland China to pay you using UnionPay cards, which is China's answer to Visa and MasterCard and is almost as ubiquitous as the latter two. I understand PayPal indeed accepts Union Pay cards: https://www.paypal.com/c2/webapps/mpp/how-paypal-works?locale.x=en_C2

Or ask your Chinese friends to pay your PayPal using Visa or MasterCard, which are also increasingly popular in China.

Last resort: Use Apple Pay. Anyone in China who would order products or services from outside the country more than likely has Apple products.
