Converting Visa Gift Cards to PayPal in order to Send Money To Friends & Family

Recently my company decided to pay out part of my bonus in Visa Gift Cards. These cards were purchased for rewarding employees with smaller bonuses, but they want to use them all up this year in order to register them on the books.

At the very least this presents a logistical challenge for me since they will be 20 fifty dollar gift cards.

1) how do I get the Visa Gift Cards into Paypal so that I have a balance of $2,000 (without incurring transaction fees), and

2) would I be able to make a $2,000 transfer to my son's paypal account at university with this?

I read some info on the archives that covers some of this but not really this situation.

Just use the cards for regular purchases at aretail stores; that was the intention of the cards.

They are cash cards.  You could check with VISA as to whether or not you can cash them out into your bank account.  Not to PayPal.

Gift cards usually can not be used through PayPal because they need a way to be verified.

Since its Visa though, register the gift cards at https://mygift.giftcardmall.com or http://www.prepaid-usa.com or at the url on the back of the cards under your name and billing address to use and manage them and then add them to your Wallet page, verify them and see if you can withdraw to PayPal balance.

If not, they can't be used to convert to cash and have to be used for purchases.

I read that Paypal has an APP you can download to your phone,then you can run to a Rite Aid store and have them deposit cash into your paypal account.

First you must convert your Visa gift card into cash,like use it to buy something small,like chewing gum?

or stamp?one stamp? and get the rest in cash.
