Enabling Micropayments for Digital Goods on my PayPal Business Account

PayPal customer service has been absolutely worthless in helping me figure out how to do this.  (I think I have a copy of every mindless form letter they send to people.)  Hopefully someone here can help me figure this out.

I started a brand new business account for the sole purpose of selling digital goods, all of which are under $4.00 USD.  Evidently there's some way to enable a special microtransaction pricing plan (so I'm not paying 30% in fees), but there's no documentation anywhere on how to go about doing that.  All the old sign-up links and How-Tos are dead.

So please, if anyone has any information about how to enable micropayments for digital goods on my account, please educate me!

Right, and that's exactly the link I used to create this new account!  I thought it would be enabled automatically.  (Wouldn't that be easy?)  But, no, it's not.  It's still on the traditional pricing scheme.

In that case you may have to contact customer services direct to enable it.

I've been trying to for six days now.  All I get is copy/paste reply letters that have nothing to do with digital goods or micropayments.  Do you know how to contact customer support in a way that won't get me auto-replied with a form letter?

Click on a contact bottom of PayPal pages and use the phone option. When you get through don't select any options just hang on or just say the word agent. Or another way is to send a private message to customer services via their twitter or Facebook pages.

I can't call w/o paying international rates, as I'm outside the USA/Canada.  I guess I'll sign up for Twitter or Facebook and try and get some customer support that way.

This really shouldn't be so difficult...

Sorry late reply, i am not in the US or Canada either so posted my last post before i went to bed.

However we have a phone option as well so double check you don't in your country.

Yes the Twitter, Facebook options should get you a reply.

Good luck.

Where did you find a list of international numbers?  https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact/call only lists the 1-888 number (from within the USA) and a 1-402 number (international, but I don't assume toll-free).  Is there a country-specific list of numbers that you know of?

(I tried "emailing" customer support again, and I got the "How do I update my email address?" response...)

No there is not a list, i was just saying that we have a freephone number in the UK so maybe you have in your country and to check first as it is not just the U.S and Canada that have one.

Click on contact bottom of every paypal page and the phone option if there is one where you are should be next to the email option.

Failing that Twitter or Facebook are best.
