When I signed up for PayPal, I linked to a debit/credit card. I have always had money in my account so I never used it. I am just wondering if that card is accessed if I make a purchase and am short in my cash account. I am waiting for a bank transfer now (still can't understand why it takes 3-5 days to move my money) but am afraid I will miss a sale item. Will the difference automatically be charged to my card. Thank you.

When you make a payment, the money is first taken from your PayPal balance. If your balance cannot cover the full amount of your payment, the rest of the money can come from PayPal Credit products, your linked bank account, or your personal debit or credit card.
You can choose your payment method during the send money flow. Here's what to do:
- During checkout, click Change or More Funding Options under Payment Method on the Review page.
- On the next page, select the payment method you want and click Continue.
- The payment method you selected will be used after your PayPal balance.

Thank you - if I choose my bank account will it be an immediae payment or will the payment take 3-5 days as well or will that be an immediate debit card payment? Sorry, don't mean to make it confusing.

There's no option to choose bank account, only to use a credit or debit card linked to your account.
PayPal looks at your account balance first, if funds are insufficient, then PayPal will withdraw from your bank account. You can only change the order at checkout by selecting the card, credit or debit you have linked to your account.

Thanks, your answer cleared my question which I just posted. But this is the case when you are using paypal while you are logged in to your account.
If I buy something from another site and I use paypal to pay for that, probably there won't be any option for me to specify where to get funds from if there is not enough money in my paypal account. In this case paypal will take funds from my credit card or debit card ( bank account ) wich are both added into my paypal account ? Which account ( credit or debit ) paypal attempts to take money from first and how to change that order in paypal account ?
I hope I am not making it complicated.
Thanks again.
