I'd like to set up a second paypal account. I can attach it to a new bank account I have, and also to a different email. Is this a problem?

You are allowed x2 paypal accounts BUT one has to be personal and the other has to be premier / business.
Advice is voluntary.

I don't understand... why are we limited to one personal paypal account if we don't have a business? Whats the purpose of a Premier or Business account? I just want to use one for certain personal items, another for household/family items?
Can you explain in detail what the rationale is or what the premier/business account means?

PayPal's Help Center says...
Can I have multiple PayPal accounts?
Yes. You can have one Consumer account and one Business account. You can add more email addresses, debit or credit cards, and bank accounts to your account, but each account must have its own email address and financial information. You can also upgrade your Consumer account to a Business account.

Thanks for the help. It looks like I will have to _add_ a "Premier" account but I haven't yet figured out how to do that. The link didn't offer that option, it merely states that you can have a personal AND a premier, or business account. I'm not really a business, I'd just like to keep track of funds received from selling/auctioning from two distinct household sources. I have estate items to sell and then I have to share the proceeds down the road with relatives. I just don't want to have any mix ups or questions about the estate-specific funds.
My current setup includes a PP credit card, and a linked bank account. So I have a new bank account to link to a new PP account, and I have another email I can use for that account. I'm guessing that the new account should be a Premier since I doubt that proceeds would ever reach even $2,000 in a given year, and I know this could go on for a few years, maybe even 10 years.
So if there's a link to adding a premier account rather than FAQs without a "Let's add an account" button LOL, please direct me to it.
thanks in advance.

You are not supposed to sell on a personal account and may have no seller protection if you do so. A personal account is for sending money for purchases or to family and friends or receiving money from family / friends.
So you need to click on upgrade and fill in the "individual" pathway as you are not a registered business.

That's interesting. Everyone I know in all my special interest forums and locally here in my town has just one personal paypal, and have been using that paypal to buy and sell in the forums and on eBay since paypal was part of eBay. On eBay, they actually banned the use of USPS Money Orders as payment and insist on paypal as a means of payment. Never once on eBay have _they_ questioned anyone that I know of about what kind of paypal account the seller or buyer had.

They don't question it BUT if a buyer files a dispute then as they are selling on a personal account they will have no seller protection.
If you look up account types on paypal it states personal accounts are for receiving GIFT payments or purchasing.
Also you are only allowed to accept a certain amount of card funded payments via a personal account before you are forced to upgrade anyway.
But hey you don't have to take my advice or the advice of anyone on here, carry on selling on a personal account if you want to but don't blame us if you hit a problem with a chargeback.
And you obviously have not read all the threads on here from sellers querying why they lost a dispute when they met ALL the requirements of seller protection EXCEPT the fact they sold on a personal account.
OR all the threads on here from folks querying why they are being forced to upgrade to accept a card payment.

Seller protection eligibility is shown in the transaction details for each PayPal payment. Log in to your Personal PayPal account and click on a recently received payment for an eBay item.
What does it say about seller protection eligibility?
