PayPal Personal Account fee for receiving money?

Hello,

I'd like to choose the right PayPal account type. My account is based in Egypt and I'm a freelancer who gets paid every 2-3 months and wants to withdraw my money to my Visa issued in my country, Egypt.

I really can't get a clear straight answer on the fees applied to Personal and Premier accounts when 'receiving money', specifically from a US-based account that sends the money using a PayPal balance 'not a credit card'. I want to know the right account type that won't let me pay any fee upon receiving money this way, and if the fee is obligatory in all accout types, which one suits me, a Personal or a Premier one?

Note: I'm not going to use my account to sell anything or receive money from a credit card.

Thanks.

OK this is general advice and may differ in your country and don't forget i do not work for paypal.

Firstly you can't sell on a personal account and if you did use it for selling then you would have no paypal seller protection.

If you use a personal account for selling then paypal will see that and force you to upgrade at some point.

Secondly if you are NOT selling and just receiving funds as gifts then you can use a personal account as long as the people sending the funds used the family / friends option when they send the payment.

HOWEVER if they use that option there is a fee if they fund the gift from a card, if they fund it from funds in their paypal account balance OR bank transfer then it is normally free.

BUT if its an international payment then there may be cross border or currency conversion fees even for personal payments.

If you are going to SELL then you would need a business account but if you are not a registered business then you just fill it in as an "individual".

So if you are a freelancer getting PAID then you are selling and would probably need a business account.

If that is the case then you would pay a fee per payment and the fees are located at the very bottom of every paypal page.
