I just received an email, saying it was from Paypal with the subject line:
Your account has been limited until we hear from you PP-<removed>
The email included an attachment to download and use the activate. I'm assuming this is fraudulent and did not open the attachment. Is there a way I can confirm it's not from Paypal?
Thanks
R2steve

Yes send to spoof@paypal.com BUT >>
You will know an email is not from PayPal when:
•The email uses a generic greeting like 'Dear user' or 'Hello, PayPal member’.
•The email requests financial and other personal information.
•The email includes an attachment, a software update to install on your computer.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hi r2steve
Yes its a phishing email not from ppal
U can send to spoof@paypal.com
Genuine ppal emails:
Always address u as dear full name
never ask u to click on links/downloads/attachments
never ask for personal info
Always log in via official site never from your private emails
If u do click change your password and security questions immediately

We just received this email and have reported it. Grammar errors ("active my account" instead of "activate") and other red flags ...
What I'm wondering, how did they know the email address on our PayPall account????

Your email addresses are pretty much public information for someone to find. The only way to keep an email private is to not use it ever.
