I have used PayPal in store at Home Depot a bunch of times. Went to use it today since I forgot my wallet and it wouldn't work. The employee tending to the self checkout said I need a card now. Is that true? It used to be the mobile number + pin. Is this a new policy or was a store specific problem?
The way I know to do it is through the mobile app. Log on, tap In-Store, type in Home Depot in the search bar, select the store and it will give you 4-digit code to enter into their card swipe machine after selecting PayPal on it as payment method.
I've set up the PayPal app on my phone. When I touch Pay In Store, I get a bunch of merchants ( non of them are Home Depot ) DO you have to be in the store or in close proximity to the store for it to show up ?
**ALSO** , when I tap any of the other stores on the list to get a code, the code is in huge print and the last digit is unreadable.
I was able to get the 4 digit code from home. But the other day, I was not seeing any Home Depot's listed. I saw Macy's, Bloomingdales, tons of AutoZone's, Dollar General, and one restaurant...HD prolly gave up the ghost. lol
Tryed to use the "GET $20 OFF" your in store purchase at Home Depot in Alpena MI #2760 when you pay with PayPal and they told me that they have not been able to accept PayPal for 2 -3 months. I wounder if Paypal is aware of this? Any one else had this problem?
