Pending receipt of funds

I received a payment for services today, yet it is showing as a 'pending' transaction. i have had my account for years, and used it many times online as well as having customers pay for services and the funds immediately on my paypal balance. curious as to why this one is held. it gives me two options...accept or decline payment. when i click accept, it talks about needing to be a verified user. the cc i have had on file from the start is a prepaid one and thus the reason why i prefer to have the funds added to my paypal balance instead of transferring them to my cc on file. but for some reason this payment wont let me add those funds to my balance. any help would be appreciated

Was the payment made in a different currency? If so you may have to accept it because of the conversion that would take place, and this could require the verified account.

Is there any particular reason you don't just go ahead and verify? It's really best to do so to avoid limitations like this in general.

Payments can also be pending if the person pays with their bank account as the funding source, and they don't have a credit card added to their account, which would make it an e-check without a backup funding source, and would cause the pending payment. Since you say you have the option to Accept / Deny, though, that leads me to believe it must be a currency conversion scenario.
