Receiving money via friends & family, email confirmation no longer gives senders email

When you receive money via friends & family, the email confirmation use to show the senders email address, so you could just hit reply to that email, and email the person back if you wanted to say you got it, or whatever. NOW, the senders email is no longer there and when you hit "reply" it goes to service AT paypal.com. The only waty to get them email it to log into paypal which just takes extra time. As I said, for years, the reply to was the senders email, now all of a sudden it changed.  Can someone fix this mistake?

The feature is there for email notification-goods and services.

What lancelotme said is, the feature you are asking about is only available for goods and services payment email notifications, not (or no longer) for family and friends payment notifications.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Ok thanks, but I think this so called feature got removed by MISTAKE when paypal did an update. This has happened over the years many times when they update stuff. WHo can we contact to fix this?

I wouldn't call it a feature, if someone is sending you $500, you should be able to email them back to confirm, just like goods & services. That emailing has worked like that for the past 5 years and all of a sudden is gone as of a month ago aprox.

I can dig it.  Gosh, the last time I tried to ask PP about some UI thing, I incidentally lost the use of an email address. lol  Don't ask.  These days I just work around the problem until one day it gets fixed by itself some kind of way.  A good example was the splash page video playing in the homepage from 1-2 years ago.  That went by the wayside eventually.  The video slowed down the loading of the site and people hated it.  Vitriol was spewed.  I used the Feedback button/link located all the way at the bottom of any page. No worries, by the nature of your issue, you're not in danger of losing use of an email address. Smiley Happy

You can also call customer service, Message Center (the bell icon near log out button), or use Facebook/Twitter.

Interesting. So, does anyone from paypal monitor this, or look at these threads? This is an obvious issue, but I feel likle if I say something now, they could make it worse.

They peek in once in a while, the mods, or it if they get an overall sense that something is badly received, they may change whatever it is...eventually.

The site is half new/half classic and I do understand they're trying to port everything over to the new half.  I see the changes.  Just wished in the process, it wouldn't be so disruptive and unstable, and break stuff that worked so well before.  Smiley Sad  ::sigh::  There is another site I use that does this. The site architecture is built from ground up and they got coders in house and they do updates to fix something but introduce other problems.

Yeah, or not put the "function" back.  At least, if the personal payments notifications had the sender email in the body of the email, you could just right click on it and copy paste it on the TO field as a workaround.
