Transferring funds from Australian bank to Paypal account in USA

If I have funds that I need to transfer from my overseas bank to my US bank am I able to do that through PayPal?  I have a US paypal account.

Realizing that there are options available through the banks, however trying to avoid some of the ridiculous fees.  XE currency converter also has come up, but would prefer PayPal, better reputation.  Western Union is rather unfair with its exchange rates.

Any help would be apprecieated

Where are you now?

If it  is  a large sum,I would write a check and show it to my bank and ask them to collect it.  

Once I wrote a check drawn on my foreign bank account in foreign curency and ask my US bank to collect it,they did,and the fee is reasonable.

It showed up in my US bank account in 10 days.

You know Paypal charges a 2 1/2 % conversion fee.

Sumiko, only the USA bank is linked to my Paypal account.  I am in the US now.  But my funds are in my Australian bank.  2.5 % doesn't sound as bad as some of the others.  So do you know if it can be done through PayPal?

For US PayPal accounts, you can only add US Bank.  You cannot add foreign bank.  Naturally, you will need an AU PayPal account with the AU bank linked and send the money to your US PayPal but with PayPal security as it is, very sensitive, the transfer might get blocked for all we know.  Maybe call customer service for the most appropriate way to move money from foreign bank to your US account.

On second thought, if you opened an AU PayPal account, add AU bank, add US bank, you Add money from your AU bank to PayPal balance and withdrawl to US bank or PayPal it to your US PayPal.

if she has an Aussie Paypal account,she can have both AUSSIE and US bank accounts linked .

Now it may be too late as she is in USA now,if she has not closed her Aussie PAYPAL account,she maybe able to add her US bank account to her Aussie Paypal account if she is not caught trying to log on to an Aussie Paypal account from outside Australia.

She could risk having locked out of her Aussie paypal account.

there is a way of adding a travel agenda to her profile saying she is now away from her country,but I AM NOT sure this feature is still available.

US bank will clear her AUssie CHCK for her,it may take longer,but it is more reliable
