Why won't my Vanilla Visa Card work?

So I was gifted a vanilla Visa gift card of $50 for Christmas. I wanted to hook it up to PayPal to I can make some purchases. The purchase I can make only allows PayPal, but PayPal sends me an error saying that the card is declined and I should add a different one. This is a prepaid gift card, and I really need it to connect ASAP. What I want to buy is currently on sale, but not for long! Please answer ASAP, -and to help me with my issue.

Why not just use it to make purchases directly without risking some problems with PayPal.

What I want to spend the Vanilla Card on only accepts PayPal. Also I do not use Kik, nor do I trust it. If you could just say it on here that would help a lot.

There could be two problems:

1) PayPal may not accept the vanilla Card as a general rule or,

2) the card has not been registered at the Vanilla Card website with the same account name/address information as your PayPal account.

PayPal like to verify payment methods if possible for security/risk purposes.

See this page for FAQs about prepaid gift/debit cards:

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
