On my most recent American Express statement, I see a couple of Paypal line items/charges. I cannot say for sure that they are not legitimate...I just cannot think of what they might have been for. There is a phone number listed, a reference number and an ROC number. How do I find out what these 2 different charges are for? One says PAYPAL *LORETTAMLOR and the other says PAYPAL *1ELECTRONIC and the charges were for $129.99 and for $7.99, respectively. There must be an easy way just to find out what these 2 charges are actually for. Like I said, they may be legitimate, so I don't want to just suddenly report them as fraudulent to AMEX. Help please. Thanks in advance!

If someone pays in-person with a credit card it will not show on you Etsy account, but it will show on your credit card in the manner you posted: PayPal * username
Whoever manages the card should insist on paper receipts from all users. Receipts should be reconciled on a daily basis.
There are a lot of small merchant in stores and also itinerant vendors who accept credit card payments with PayPal Here; that's the way we accept payments and we always give buyer a paper receipt explaining how the business name will show on the credit card statement.

Have you ever uses your AmEx card for an in-person purchase where the seller uses the PayPal Here device and/or app?
Does anyone else use your AmEx account for card purchases?
What activity is showing in your PayPal summary page on your computer?

it is a company card, so more than one partner does use the card on occasion. I will have to ask my partners if any of them did something with the Pay Pal Here thing you mentioned. When I log into PayPal, the summary page shows no activity at all. This is sort of why I was hoping that the name after PayPal (ie LORETTAMLOR) along with the reference number and the ROC number might possibly tell me what exactly the purchase was, or what it might be related to. A Google search of LORETTAMLOR did not help any at all. It just seems odd that a PAYPAL purchase can be so vague. I would think that something in the American Express line description could help pinpoint this a little better. I just wish I could find out what kind of "store" used PayPal to charge the AMEX card, or even where this "store" might be located. Like I said, it just seems so, so vague.

if these charges are found in your activity history, then you or someone who has access to your Paypal account made those purchases.
