How Long Will a PayPal Credit Purchase Be Pending?

I registered for PayPal Credit within the last few hours and completed a purchase with it through eBay. I tried to make a payment, but my balance is zero although my credit line has dropped by exactly the amount of the purchase, which is listed as completed from the main PayPal account page, but as pending from the PayPal Credit page. How long will the purchase be pending?

Also, I made my purchase with the no interest and no payments for six months option, which is valid for purchases made until the end of next month - is this an option which is being phased out, or is it a promotional offer which comes and goes, or for new PayPal Credit users only? What are the usual payment plans?

Payments are NOT automatic at the end of the promotional period.  All payments must be initiated manually.

I would have to look at the details of yoru statement to understand the expiration date.  When was the purchase made, what is the statement date, and when the payment due date for the statement?

All that matters is that you pay in full by the end of the promotional period or you will owe all back interest; it's all identified on your statement.

As long as the eBay purchase/payment is completed, you should be ok.  It probably just takes time to process through PayPal Credit as it isn't a direct payment.

There is no need to make a payment to PayPal Credit until you get a statement; then make sure you read it carefully and pay in full if necessary.

As for the promotional options, they are not always available and not available from all merchants and not for all purchases.

Yes, the eBay purchase completed. The payment is still pending through PayPal Credit as of this morning. I received a robocall from the PayPal fraud prevention department asking me to press 1 to confirm I authorized the transaction, which I did. I assume the statement will appear later today or this week. I found another post on the forum from 2014 by JasmineM saying I'll receive a monthly statement, but the due amount will be zero for the first six months because of the promotional offer.

Will I be able to begin making payments once I receive the first monthly statement, though? A commenter on another site said the option to begin paying doesn't appear until the month before it's due, although I can call to specially request to pay early. Is this true, and how exactly would I do this? I would prefer to begin making payments before the fifth month.

As soon as you get your bill you can make a payment, probably even bofore.

Just clidk on the PayPal Credit below your $$ summary of PayPal.  Follow the links to PayPal Credit.  I think you'll find a payment button for clicking.  Once you get your statement make sure you download the full statement in PDF form and read the details.

I don't make any payments on my 6-month delays until the expiration date.  The funds transfer from checking through PayPal and then to PayPal Credit.  Simple.

Will money transfer automatically from my PayPal balance to PayPal Credit on the due date?

Do you know why the six-month no payment option expires on 31 March?

Thanks for the assistance.

This page says:

"Enjoy No Payments and No Interest if paid in full in 6 months on purchases of $99 or more when you checkout with PayPal and choose PayPal Credit.

Interest will be charged to your account from the posting date (which is usually within a few days after the purchase date) if the purchase balance is not paid in full within 6 months. Offer valid on purchases made by March 31, 2016."

Apparently, this is a promotional offer, since it expires next month, but I've found references of this offer going back years, so I guess it's periodically available, or else is for new members only.

I guess monthly payments are normally required?

Generally, monthly payments are NOT required, but make sure it is all stated correctly on your statement.  Make sure it is paid by the expiration date; that's it.

The site says I have six months to pay on purchases made by 31 March, not that I have to pay by 31 March. I just wonder what the terms will be after 31 March.

You'll have to wait until 1 April.  The promotions vary based on various parameters.
