Craigslist Las Vegas scam?

I was given an email address to send payment to for a penthouse suite stay in Vegas. How can I verify that this is a valid paypal email address? I was told that the contract will be sent once payment has been received. I'm very skeptical about this but don't want to miss out if it was legit.
