Request Partial Refund

If you file a paypal Claim, but only want a partial refund, will paypal require a full refund and that you ship the whole order back? I did not recieve a few items from an order and the seller has been giving me the run around about giving me a refund for those items (she doesn't have them to send me at all). I can't send back the other items in my order as I have already used them.

I should also add, that the seller had a minimum order to receive free shipping. She's saying that if she refunds the amount that will bring me under the "free shipping" amount....

Hi zay66 -

That is an excellent question! A seller can certainly approve a partial refund; at that point you would not have to return any items because that refund essentially resolves all of the concerns. However the important part of that sentence is that the seller has to approve the refund. If they choose not to accept that solution they can request you ship all of the items you received back on your own dime and then you get a full refund. Which I understand wouldn't be possible here. 😞

You may want to reach out to the seller to discuss an amicable solution, possibly where you absorb the cost of the shipping to get back most of the money for the missing items. I would hope getting most of your money back would be a better solution than getting none of it back because you can't send back the items you did receive.

Hope that helps clear things up a little, and if you need anything else please let us know!

Andy,

I'm in a similar boat, my buyer (who had his item lost by FedEx) has agreed to a partial refund.

However, paypal does not provide me with this option on my resolution center screen, only "offer a full refund."

How can I provide a 50% refund for the buyer?

Thanks,

Brandon
