does paypal look at ebay messages between buyer/seller during a dispute?

i bought a virtual good on ebay and after a long exchange the seller said he no longer had the item and will not be able to send it. I asked for a refund and he told me to open a dispute on paypal and he will send me the refund immediately. however, after opening a dispute the seller decided to escalate the case to paypal and lied and said he sent the product and is leaving it up to paypal to decide whether i get a refund or not. i am worried that paypal wont see the ebay messages that clearly state he never sent the product and that he is now trying to scam me. furthermore after i purchased this item another ebay user bought the same product i did. he left a negative feedback stating he also had been scammed. will paypal also see this?? i tried submitting screenshots of the messages proving he is a liar but i cannot find where to upload them. someone please help. thank you

Normally they look at both sides.

the last two messages he sent me beforei opened the dispute were "i have a problem with my collaborator, if you want a refund go to the resolution center and open a paypal dispute now" and "open a dispute and i give you refund and close dispute immediately" after this i opened the dispute and then he escalated it, i tried messaging him back and now he wont respond. is this enough evidence to win the dispute in your opinion? thank you
