holiday paid with paypal. company bust. am i protected

hi . can anyone advise me. i paid for my holiday accomodation via paypal only 5 days ago and the company has gone into administration. will paypal refund this or am  going to have to write this off?

That is considered a service, which is iffy under buyer protection. File a dispute anyway to try and get your money back.

wont Paypal ask the hotel to upload tracking information,if $750  or more,signature confirmation?

did you pay with credit card ?

if so,file chargeback.

Most folks buy airline tickets in advance using credit card so they can file chargeback when the airline goes under,no different than hotel accomodation which is often booked in advance/

P.S.

drinking,flying,carousing are all considered service

Is there any explicit statement or Identification of the transaction saying it is service ??

Paypal robot takes care of item not received so it would ask for online viewable tracking number which shows 'delivered'.

Your problem and Paypal problem would be how to claw back the money as it is under bankrutcy,what happens to its  bank account?

Just pray you are covered by PAYPAL buyer protection and let Paypal file as creditor

Oh,

if hotel is under,and you file a dispute of item not received,hotel would have to respond by a certain date,who is going to respond?

if it does not,then case would be closed and you get your moola back?

if they have a website for booking and accept Paypal,you should be protected ,you may want to call PAypal customer service.

I would think if anyone files a dispute,a hotel would show the signed registration and receipt,
