Hi @Speedhack,
After review of your screenshots, these emails are fake, most definitely. The "From" email addresses are not from PayPal at all. PayPal do not use gmail to send you your payment notifications. PayPal also use proper english grammar in their emails.
Do not ever click on links on emails. To check to see if you received money for sure, log on to your PayPal account directly at PayPal website to check. Only after you do this do you deliver any goods.
Hope you did not send out any goods.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

As long as you change your password, you should be okay with your active account. Log in to check you account from time to time. I don't recommend selling digital goods with PayPal as there is no seller protection for that. Some would say to ask for Friends and Family payment but if the payment was made by credit card, you can still get a chargeback for Unauthorized Transaction. These scammers get access to stolen identities and financial info to use so once they get your item, they can just disappear and the card owner chargeback and you will be responsible. Be careful out there.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Did you forward the email to spoof@paypal.com? They may or may not respond to every forwarded email sent.
Check your account activity to see if there are any charges. Check your PayPal, bank, credit cards etc. If no charges, move on. If there are, dispute them.
You can tell if it is fake by who sent the email, if it is an official PayPal email address. Compare it with a previous official PayPal notification from your email inbox. And PayPal do not use the the word "amortization" in their notifications that I know of. And they do not say "you paid a fee" when a payment is sent.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

The sender has to log on to their PayPal account and cancel their payment and send money to your email address. If the wrong email address just so happens to be registered to PayPal, the transaction would be marked Completed on the sender account, they have to email the recipient. The sender has to fix it on their end. Nothing you can you because the money did not go into your account. It is their problem now.
On the other hand, it could be a fake spam email out of nowhere accusing you of receiving this money when you didn't so be careful.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, I feel there's so much red tape trying to use PayPal, and being unwell doesn't help.
I got a fake email and I reported it, I the. done what was asked of me, but got nowhere with that, I replied back to them letting them know this, for all the good that did. I am at my wits end now just trying to get a reply from someone.
I only wanted to know, 1. Was if a fake email, I now know if was. 2. Did they get money from my bank account, it's happened before, but was blocked by the bank, but not heard anything this time and can't so far see it on my statement.
The email said this:
You have paid a fee of $ 88.00 NZD at Mighty Ape Limited.
6 April 2017 00:45:02 PST
This amortization will appear on your credit card statement as payment to PAYPAL * MIGHTY APE.
Thank you for your time.
