More Convergent Outsourcing scams

Good day,

My wife has received numerous harassing phone calls from Convergent Outsourcing from Memphis, TN asking for me, stating they were attempting to collect a debt on a PayPal account that was past due. When this first occurred, I contacted PayPal, who confirmed that I was not in collection and my account was in good standing. <removed> was the phone number that they called from, and when searching for that number, it comes up as a locksmith company. The persons on the phone have been threatening my wife with collection and negative credit strikes against my credit if we don't pay. When told that we don't have a balance with Paypal, they would not listen and again tried to scare us into paying the 'debt.' They have called twelve (12) times in the last six weeks.
Doing a cursory search about this situation reveals thousands of people with nearly identical calls/letters dating back as early as 2010.
I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Is there something that can be done about this?  I have seen others state that their credit was negatively impacted by this group, somehow.

2 things

Never answer phone calls from them

File a complaint with the CFBP (you did that)

When a debt collector is sure of their target, it will send a letter.  Untill then, ignore.

Finally, get on with your life and enjoy while you can.
