Hey, I was having the exact same problem as you and was getting very frustrated. Turns out, the PayPal bank name recognition isn't very intelligent. It was abbreviating the word 'bank' to BK in my Bank's name. So try putting Suntrust BK instead. That might help.

I was trying to add a bank to pay my PP Mastercard, and had the same exact problem. I just now clicked on my Profile, then Update Bank, and there was a button under that page that didn't ask for the bank name. Thank goodness, I was so frustrated trying to do it on the other page. Hope this helps you, or maybe someone else in the future...  ~Melanie.

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? I'm attempting to add my Bank Account and when trying to enter the information it comes back with an error saying that the "Bank Name" is incorrect. I use Bank of America.. not sure how many different ways there is to type this. Anyone help me out here?

*Resolved* I was attempting to add the bank account under the "get verified" link which asked me for a Bank Name. Rather than clicking there I used the "add a bank account" link and that page didn't ask for a Bank Name but rather just the accounting number and routing number. It Autopopulated the name which was Bank of America, N.A; whoever would've guessed that name is beyond me.

I had the same problem and going under profile works. Capitol One was Capitol One, NA  in case someone needs it

I agree, this is the most idiotic system I've ever had to use, to add a bank account! I just added my checking account to 7 other credit cards, and none of their systems ever asked me for a bank name, the Routing # pulled it in automatically, or it didn't care. I am trying to add my checking account to make a payment on my new PayPal Mastercard, and it won't accept "Chase", or "Chase Bank", or "JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A." (Which is what my checks say on them). I am SO frustrated!! Can anyone help me, please? It just keeps saying Bank Name missing or invalid. The bank's business cards just say "Chase". I don't know what else to try. Glad I am not the only one having this problem, which tells me PP needs to kick some programmer's butt & get them to fix it. This is ridiculous. Sorry about the rant, but I am tired, and want to get this paid and go to bed, and to have to struggle with some moronic, non-user-friendly system has me at wits end. Thanks in advance for any help I can get... ~Melanie.

I just now figured out how to get around the problem. Instead of trying to add a payment account to my PP Mastercard, I clicked on my Profile, then clicked Update Bank, and there was a button to Add a bank, account under that page, which didn't ask for the bank name. Thank goodness, I was so frustrated trying to do it on the other page. Hope this helps someone else avoid the aggravation...  ~Melanie.

This is beyond stupid.  I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out what the system expected for my bank name (Chase), before finding this thread and adding the bank from my preferences.  Thank you all for your help.  For the record, Chase needs to be entered as JPMORGAN CHASE BANK, NA ... go figure.
