embedding a paypal button into an image with photoshop slice tool

Hey there everyone.

I'm trying to set up some pricing tables on my website and would like the price table images themselves to be clickable buttons. I know to accomplish this with a regualr link but the paypal buttons are a different animal apparently.

Can anyone tell me which part of the paypal button code can be used as the URL when using the slice tool on photoshop?

I appreciate any help I can get. FYI...I am somewhat tech savy but a genius by no standard lol so if you give instructions pleas make them as complete and "fool"  proof as possible.

thanks again! have a great day!

Welcome to the Community!

While I'm not a PhotoShop wizard, I think I have an idea that can help you with this.  It sounds like you're already familiar with how to insert clickable URLs into PhotoShop, you just need the URL for the Buy Now buttons.

Here's a way to do it.  Faster routes may exist (such as if you have a web page that you can quickly and easily publish to), but this is the fastest I've found so far.  Make sure you keep your internet connection up while completing this process.

1)  Make the button in your account like normal.  Copy the code.

2)  Open up notepad in your computer.

3)  Paste the code

4)  Save the file: type the file name you want, but end it with ".html"  Save the file to your desktop for easy access.

5)  Open the new file.  It should open automatically in an internet browser.  You'll see your button!

6)  Click on the button, and on the next page, copy the URL.

I use this all the time to troubleshoot my own buttons, so I think you'll find it works well!

Thanks,

Adrian

thanks adrian,

I am familiar with Photoshop but have only been trying to make clickable images for about a week. I am running into some trouble with it. I've watched a few tutorials on youtube and they all present the same process. However, when I follow the steps the resulting images don't work the way in need them to. For Instance, I just now finished messing with a price table image that I wanted to have three buttons that lead to 3 separate pages on my site.  After I used the slice tool and put the URLs into the images....I tested the images and all the buttons lead to the source image on my computer instead of the appropriate page on my site.  I did the process 3 times, each with the same result.   I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I've followed video instructions each time.  I'm using CS5.5. Not whats up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
