Hello! I was wondering where or how I can check what type of PayPal account I have. Basically I was going to upgrade to Premier, but when I went to upgrade the only presented option was Buisness. So I began to wonder if maybe I had already upgraded at some point in the past when I began selling small items through Etsy. Unfortunately I cannot find anywhere that actually tells me what type I currently have. Is there anyway to find out?

Hi Odyanii -
Thanks for reaching out to us here. As of now, we are actually phasing out Premier accounts so that one would only need a Personal or Business Account. We would need to take a look at your account to see what kind of account you currently have though. Please click 'contact us' at the bottom of any of our pages for a way to get in touch with us. Or you can reach out to us via Facebook or Twitter. We would be happy to take a look for you.

Hi,
Currently paypal help still list Premier account as an option. Maybe you should update that in order to avoid confusion.
So, if, according to the help section, I need a Premier account (for ocasionally selling small things without owning a business), what type of account should I use now: Personal or Business?
Thanks!

I also have a similar question on paypal account types.
I do not have a business and assume I have a personal account, however I was researching to see if there was a PayPal debit card in order to use my paypal balance. (I recently closed my bank account due to fees - and haven't opened a new one yet).
So, when I applied for the debit card - it didn't say it was for business users only and it went through and says it will be delievered in 7-10 days. So my question is - can I still use this Business Debit Card if I don't actually have a business? Just curious.

you can have a Paypal business debit card if you have a personal account and you meet the qualification.
since they are sending you a card, you must have met the requirements/
I have mine many years ago when my Paypal account was a primier account, now it is either business or premier/personal.
Paypal urges us who sell to convert our account to business,so we just give it a business name with our SS number etc/
Dont really think there is much difference.

are you aware Paypal business debit card taps your Paypal balance backed by bank transfer,if you use it as a credit card,Paypal will give you 1% cash rebate?
without a bank account as backup, you will be keeping your fund in your Paypal account and if for some reason,Paypal restrict your account, your money would be tied up .
Unless you withdraw your Paypal fund from ATM machine regularly and keep the money in your mattress?
Some Paypal members have a Paypal prepaid MC debit card which is manned by Bankcorp bank,it cost 4.95 a month and you can move money from the card to PAYPAL account back and forth.search this forum, there are always long discussion on the prepaid card.
this is like an alternative to bank account,
