PayPal Closed My Account For No Reason??

So I've only used my account for a handful of payments, and I just logged in to send a friend some money, and got a message that I can't use PayPal anymore......I've never done anything to violate any terms. I have literally only ever bought some reptile supplies, a bracelet, earrings, and a Netflix payment. How do I found out why they closed my account???

There is likely a very serious violoation risk.  No way of knowing with knowing more about your account and your activities.

  • Yes, I received the same notification, except paypal asked me to provide some paperwork, which I did.  Once uploading the documents requested by paypal, I hit the submit button to submit the uploaded documets, and INSTANTLY within the first minute or two they responded with an email stating my documents were declined and my account is now permanently disabled with no access to the funds I have available in my paypal account.
  • PayPal also did the same exact thing to three other friends of mine, all in the same week.
  • I contacted ebay who stated they have NOT received ANY complains from buyers which Paypal claims to have received & mind you not, Ebay would have been the first to receive such buyers' complaints if it were in fact true.
  • Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect your issue is quite different unless you also had deals with reptiles and Lokai.

 

What where your real issues which created the problem. By the way, what were the details of your ntotification?

What sort of documents? Verifying identity docs or inventory invoices, shipping info, business info?

May have nothing to do with complaints from customers then if you had none.

 

Did you con duct any transactions with your friends?

  • Paypal is stating there were customers' complaints, and requiring that I provide them invoices. And so I did as they asked. 
  • I provided paypal with the requested documents of invoices from the orginal source/maker of the stocks. 
  • As soon as pressing upload & submit (the documets requested), I received almost what seemed like an automated email from paypal stating the account was perrmanently shut down & that I will not have any access to the funds in the account. Additionally, that all of the funds in my account will be used for the purposes of refunding whoever purchased items from me.  
  • The amount in my account is not as substantial as the amounts in some of my other friends' accounts, some of them have 30-100k in their accounts. 
  • All of this happened in the past two weeks. 
  • Today, right after making my initial post in this forum, I logged back into my paypal account and saw a new notification stating that my account is limited for the next 180 days, which means that I will have no access to the funds in my account for the next 180 days.
  • I asked my other 3 friends who said they have the same notification on their accounts.
  • One of my friends has about 40k in her paypal account, and paypal has done the same exact thing to her, and in their message they referenced A SINGLE TRANSACTION in the sum of $19. 
  • In my case PayPal has made absolutely NO reference whatsoever to ANY transactions which PayPal is claiming to be the cause of my account suspension. In fact when I called PayPal to ask why they suspended my account, PayPal's response was: "we have conducted an investigation of your E-bay account and the items do not look like they are authentic".
  • So I provided all of the documents plus I explained to them that I am one of the most successful small business in my city, selling the same exact product as I do onlie, I have a retail store in a high traffic, dense area, I have been in business for almost 10 years now, AND I provided all the requested documents to PayPal from the ORIGINAL COMPANIES, and not to forget I have contacted E-bay who stated that they have absolutely no idea what is PayPal talking about, because as far as E-Bbay is concerned no complaints by either the companier OR the customers have been filed. 
  • Thank you guys for taking the time to help me out. I am looking forward to figuring out how to get this resolved since I am a small business owner and it is really hurting me financially.

Hmmmm.  Sounds strange.  Maybe a competitor is trying to cause your business harm and reported you.  PayPal do not just look at what you sell and say it is counterfeit out of nowhere.  Someone notified them.

  • Of course there must be a reason, but PayPal is not disclosing it, not to me or any of my other friends.
  • Anything is possible at this point since I am given absolutely no answers. It could be a competitor since individual buyers would go directtly to once they purchased the item from, which is E-bay, and hard to believe they would go through PayPal to claim authenticity issues in addition to E-bay. And as far as E-bay is concerned no complains were received on their part.  
  • The fact is, if there was really an issue of authenticity, I would be non-existent a long long time ago, especially being a known entity, conducting business that is open to the public for almost 10 years, and especially where I live. 
  • If in fact PayPal would have conducted their investigation (as they claim to have done) they would have received direct notifications from the companies themselves. At last, counterfeits in my industry have not been produced since the 90s, since there is excess amounts of stocks. So nobody really produces any counterfeits.
